Itinerary
Tour Plan
In the morning, departure for the southern slope of the Atlas. Transfer to the village of Tamalakout (5-hour drive). Traditional reception at our Berber muleteers’ home of Tamalakout (1650m). A short stroll around the village towards the end of the afternoon. A night with the locals.
Departure from tamalakout (1650m). After loading mules, we go back up the desert plateaux, heading for the summit of Siroua. Bivouac in front of the village of Aït Tigga. (1950m). 5-hour walk.
Visit of the agadir (A granary which is 900 hundreds years old) Of Aït Tigga, and the villages of Idoughagh and Aït Ighmour (2200 m). Breaks, from now and then, in case of need. The path winds steeply up and crosses the Col of Tachancht which is 2500m high. Lunch near a source (2400m). Cross of a group of Azibs (= sheep-pens) at the foot of Tisfeldalt . Bivouac in the nearest place to Siroua. 6-hour and 30mns walk.
Early in the morning, we go to reach the Siroua (3305m) through the southern slope, with a slight scaling of the relief. Lunch at the foot of the summit then a descent through the Tikniwine (the twins) to get to the sheep-pens of Irhiri (2300m). 6hours 30mns-walk
